From 2015 onwards, all new agri-environment agreements will have a single start date of 1 January in every year, rather than monthly start dates as at present.
From the same date, the claim periods for all current Environmental Stewardship (ES) agreements will be re-aligned to a January to December year. Natural England are sending letters to 48,000 ES agreement holders explaining how their agreement payment timings will be affected by being aligned to a January to December payment year.
