The Uplands Alliance is starting a conversation on future support for the Uplands. The first event will be hosted by Defra on 22nd September 2016. The aim is to
explore options to inform the development of future policy for the uplands after we leave the EU. Qusetions to be considered on the day will include:

• How can we motivate farmers and landowners to best deliver multiple benefits from the uplands?
• Public money for public goods – providing value for money
• The beauty of our uplands varies from place to place - is there room for local decision making on scheme design and delivery?
• Are there benefits of an integrated approach for social and environmental public goods?
• What evidence gaps do we have and what research is needed to fill them?
