The Cumbria Grazing Forum has agreed to explore how agreement holders might become more directly involved in monitoring the schemes they are signed up to deliver. The plan is to pilot a self-montoring scheme over 2012. The aims are:

  1. To encourage greater ownership and understanding of intended agreement outcomes by agreement holders
  2. To provide a greater understanding, by Natural England and others, of the impact that schemes have on farm businesses and flock management
  3. To help build confidence of agreement holders
  4. Improvement of HLS agreement performance

We will keep you informed of how this trial is progressing.
